GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man has been taken into custody after Greensboro police found a mobile meth lab on I-40 East, prompting lane closures Monday morning.
Lt. Jill Gladieux told FOX8’s Sheeka Strickland that the lane closures began after an off-duty police officer stopped a Ford F-150 pickup truck for driving erratically on I-40 East around 6:15 a.m. The driver was pulled over for a lane violation, Gladieux said.
The lone driver, identified as Tracy Scott Gaylor, 43, of Heiskell, Tenn., acted nervous and was “sweating profusely” when the officer approached him, Gladieux said.
The officer was walking Gaylor over to his patrol car to speak with him further when the suspect tried to run away, Gladieux said.
Gaylor ran for about 200 yards before the officer shocked the suspect with a Taser and took him into custody, Gladieux said.
