NORWALK, Ohio — A former art teacher at Norwalk High School has plead guilty to a sexual battery charge stemming from a relationship she carried on with a 17-year-old student.
Alexa Nasonti, 25, entered the plea at a pre-trial hearing on Monday, according to court documents obtained by Fox 8 News.
According to the plea agreement, if a prison sentence is recommended following Nasonti’s pre-sentencing investigation, the state will ask that Nasonti’s term does not exceed 18-months.
In April of 2012 police caught Nasonti and the teenage boy in the front seat of her vehicle while parked in Margaretta Township. The incident sparked an investigation into the relationship between the teacher and student.
Nasonti resigned from Norwalk City School a month after police began their investigation.
According to Ohio’s Revised Code, sexual battery carries with it the possibility of 60-months in prison and a $10,000 fine.
