How to enable Kaspersky Anti-Virus extensions in Google Chrome

If you manually deleted KasperskyAnti-Virus extensions (Virtual KeyboardKaspersky URL AdvisorContent Blocker),then in order to restore the extensions functionality, do the following:

Method №1

In this method all loaded/installed extensions will be deleted. Information about tabs and passwords will be saved.

  1. Close all Google Chrome windows.
  2. In the left bottom corner of the screen select Start > (MyComputer.
  3. Find the Preferences file in the following path: C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default (for example, C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default).
  4. Right-click the Preferences file and from the context menu select Delete.

  1. Open a Google Chrome window.
  2. All extensions are enabled.

Method №2

In this method all information and Google Chrome settings will be saved.

  1. Close all Google Chrome windows.
  2. In the left bottom corner of the screen select Start > (MyComputer.
  3. Find the Preferences file in the following location: C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default (for example, C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default).

  1. Open the Preferences file with any text editor (for example, with Notepad).

  1. Delete the code given below:

ВниманиеIf you delete an extra symbol from the Preferences file, you will damage the structure of Google Chrome configuration file. As a result all loaded/installed extensions will be deleted.

To restore Kaspersky URL Advisor extension

  1. Open a Google Chrome window.
  2. All extensions are enabled.

Names of identifiers may vary depending on Kaspersky Anti-Virus version. To know an identifier name, do the following:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
  2. Find the Extensions folder in the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\Chrome
  3. Name of each subfolder in the Extensions folder corresponds to the name of the extension.
